SGI's Projects

SGI has contributed many patches for the Linux kernel, only some of which have made it into the FOLK patch series. So far. These patches are as follows:


  • POSIX Asynchronous I/O Support
    Verision in FOLK: 1.3.1-2.4.2
    A high-performance I/O system which reads/writes asynchronously to ensure optimal contiguous throughput.
  • Post/Wait Support
    Version in FOLK: 0.2-2.4.0
    "Post/Wait is an efficient, fast, lightweight sleep/wakeup/timer mechanism used between a cooperating group of processes."
  • Scheduled Transfer Protocol
    Version in FOLK: 0.33a-2.4.1
    "The Scheduled Transfer Protocol (STP) is an ANSI specified connection-oriented data transfer protocol."
  • XFS
    Version in FOLK: CVS snapshot 08/01/2001
    An advanced 64-bit journalling filesystem (with access control lists.)
